Martyn is an Estate Planning and Insurance Specialist at Alitis Wealth Planning.

Martyn began his career in financial services in 1981, building more than four decades of experience in the industry. Over that time, he has developed deep expertise across multiple disciplines, with a strong focus on helping individuals and families make informed, confident financial decisions. For the past 30 years, he has specialized in insurance planning, guiding clients through the complexities of risk management, protection strategies, and long-term security. In the last 15 years, he has expanded his practice to include comprehensive financial planning, integrating retirement, tax, and estate considerations into cohesive, personalized strategies.

Martyn earned his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation in 1996, placing him among the first cohort of professionals in Canada to achieve this respected credential. He further strengthened his expertise by obtaining the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation in 1998, underscoring his advanced knowledge in insurance and estate planning.

As a financial planner, he works closely with clients to illustrate how their financial decisions today will shape their future—particularly in retirement and estate planning contexts. In addition to his planning role, Martyn oversees the firm’s insurance portfolio. He is responsible for managing existing client coverage as well as guiding new insurance business, ensuring that each client’s protection strategy is appropriately structured and aligned with their broader financial plan. His holistic approach ensures that insurance is not treated in isolation, but as a key component of overall financial well-being.

Martyn spent the majority of his career in Winnipeg, where he built longstanding relationships and a reputation for professionalism and trusted advice. In late 2025, he relocated to Victoria, bringing his extensive experience to the West Coast and to Alitis.
