Retirement planning is the process of setting financial goals, creating a strategy, and taking specific actions to ensure a secure and comfortable retirement.

We provide our retirement planning services as a component of our comprehensive financial planning offering. We can take into account your unique personal and financial situation to create a robust retirement plan tailored to your goals, risk tolerance, income, expenses, and assets. We do provide retirement planning services as a standalone offering. Please note that while our standalone offering may address specific retirement needs, a comprehensive plan takes a broader view, providing a roadmap for your overall financial well-being.

Starting at $1,800, our retirement planning offering includes:

  • Cashflow Analysis

We will examine your current cash flow over a specific period. This is fundamental to gaining an understanding of where money is coming from and where it is going. This will allow us to forecast your future cash flow required in retirement.

  • Review of Survivor Benefits

We will review any survivor benefits you may be eligible for such as those offered through the Canada Pension Plan (CPP). We can help determine what amount you may receive as they can vary depending on various factors such as the deceased’s contributions, your age, etc.

  • Estate Value Projections

We will estimate the value of your estate including factors such as savings, properties, and investments at a future point in time. With this assessment, you can make informed decisions on how to manage your assets during retirement, ensuring that you can enjoy your retirement as you wish while also potentially leaving a meaningful inheritance or providing support for your loved ones.

Our Approach

Our retirement planning service is an enlightening process that can help you define your retirement goals, whether it’s traveling, pursuing hobbies, or simply enjoying leisure time. Having a plan and a trusted advisor by your side allows you to work towards these goals systematically. Our team follows a disciplined approach, laid out in more detail here.

At the end of the process, you will walk away with a written document of recommendations tailored to your specific needs and goals. Our aim is to provide you with peace of mind, allowing you to enjoy the present more fully knowing that you are better prepared for the future.

Time Commitment

Alitis will be your partner and guide through the process, however your engagement is the key factor in your plans’ success.

As each retirement plan is completely customized, the amount of time it takes from the initial meeting to the recommendations stage will vary depending on a few factors:

  • The speed at which you can provide your personal financial information
  • The availability for meetings for both parties
  • The complexity of your situation

Generally, there will be 2-3 meetings from introduction to final recommendations. Meetings are generally 0.5 to 1 hour each in duration. You will need to provide detailed records and statements of your personal & financial information.
