Alitis Recognized as Family First Finalist in 2025 Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards

Building on last year’s achievement of winning the Customer Service Award at the 2024 Comox Valley Chamber of Commerce Awards, we are honored to be recognized once again as a Family First Finalist for 2025. The Family First Award celebrates organizations that champion work/life balance, support employee parental needs, engage in children’s initiatives, and foster family-friendly workplaces for both employees and customers.
At Alitis, our dedication to people is central to who we are as a business. Creating a culture that prioritizes work/life balance is one of our core values. Recognizing that team members thrive when they have the flexibility to manage their personal and professional lives, we offer a range of policies designed to meet diverse family needs.

The Alitis Team in Victoria, BC
One of the key drivers behind opening our Comox office was the opportunity to support both our growing presence and expanding client base in the Comox Valley, while also better meeting the needs of our team. With team members previously commuting to Campbell River—many with young children—the new office reduced travel time, allowing them to spend more time with their families and engage more fully in community activities such as coaching youth sports. This expansion reflects our commitment to building our business in a way that supports our clients, strengthens our local presence, and prioritizes the well-being of our team.
Our flexible vacation policies empower employees to take the time they need to recharge, with three to five weeks of annual vacation depending on tenure, an additional paid week off during the Christmas holidays, and a quarterly flex day off. Limiting overtime is also a priority, reflecting our belief that well-rested employees are more productive, engaged, and satisfied both professionally and personally.
Alitis also demonstrates support and care for employees’ parental needs beyond flexible schedules. Operating like a family office, we encourage cross-team collaboration, allowing clients to work with multiple team members while enabling individuals to balance work and home responsibilities. The hybrid work environment ensures that employees can manage family obligations, attend important events, or address unexpected needs without penalty.

Campbell River Holiday Toy Drive 2025
Beyond our internal culture, Alitis actively supports local children’s initiatives and fundraising campaigns. Our offices in Comox, Campbell River, and Victoria host holiday toy drives as part of our Holiday Giving Initiative, ensuring children and families in need can celebrate the season. We contribute annually to charitable organizations, including Santa’s Workshop in the Comox Valley, Angel Tree Society in Campbell River, and CFAX Santa’s Anonymous in Victoria. We’ve also launched the Alitis Backpack Program and in just 2 years of operation, we’ve donated over 450 backpacks, supporting students and families through partnerships with the Comox Valley Food Bank and Campbell River Food Bank.

Supporting local healthcare is also a priority, as it directly benefits children and families. Alitis is a Hole Sponsor at the Comox Valley Healthcare Foundation Golf Classic, a Gold Sponsor of the Campbell River Hospital Foundation Golf Because You Care Tournament and we attend the Victoria Hospitals Foundation Miracle and Visions Galas. Additionally, we support youth sports by sponsoring local teams such as the Campbell River Salmon Kings, Langford Lightning, and CR Tyees. We also sponsored the Mini World Cup 2025 and the Robotics71 team’s participation in the VEX Robotics World Championship. By encouraging volunteerism and community engagement, we aim to create lasting, meaningful impact for local children while fostering a sense of shared responsibility among our employees.

It underscores our belief that a supportive and flexible workplace not only benefits employees and their families but also strengthens the fabric of our organization and the communities we serve.
As we celebrate this recognition, we remain committed to continuously evolving our policies, enhancing our employee and community programs, and ensuring that Alitis remains a place where people feel supported, valued, and empowered. Being a Family First finalist is not just an honor—it is a reaffirmation of our core values, and a reminder of the impact businesses can have when they put people at the center of their mission.
