Michael Turner is a dedicated and analytical professional currently working as a Client Operations Administrator at Alitis Investment Counsel.
With a strong background in data science and mathematics, Michael brings a unique blend of technical expertise and operational insight to his role, where he collaborates closely with Portfolio Managers and administrative teams to optimize and streamline business processes.
Born in Ontario, Michael earned his master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Hull. He began his career as a Data Scientist, applying advanced analytical techniques to solve complex problems and using data to drive business decision-making with the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The reliance on some of this data by government (both local and national) makes ONS material central to debates about the determination of priorities, the allocation of resources, and decisions on interest rates or borrowing. His passion for data-driven efficiency and strategic thinking laid the foundation for his transition into the investment and operations space.
In 2024, Michael relocated to Campbell River to be closer to family, where he embraced a new professional chapter with Alitis in 2025. His international experience and methodical approach have quickly made him a valuable asset to the team.
Outside of the office, Michael is an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoys snowboarding, baseball, playing pool, and paintball—activities that reflect his competitive spirit and love for teamwork.
